About Me

My parents grew up here in Lovington, and it’s where I was born and raised. My dad is Curtis Griffin. He worked for the City of Lovington for some time and later for Lea County. He now works for the State of New Mexico in the Department of Transportation. My mom is Alma Trevizo Griffin. She has worked for Lea County Electric for almost my entire life.

I have a lot of great memories growing up in Lovington, especially attending Lovington High School with my friends. Though I spent about 10 years living in New York City during and after college, I never stopped considering Lovington my home.

I met my wife Grace in New York, and we now have two kids. A three-year old named Carnegie and a one-year old named Astrid. Today most of my life revolves around them, as I’m sure other parents understand.

In high school, I always had an interest in computers and technology. At the time, Lovington didn’t really offer much opportunity for people like me, and it sounds like it still doesn’t today. For me, a big part of moving back to Lovington was about giving a new generation opportunities here that I didn’t have. While in New York I started my own digital marketing and IT business, which I continue to run here in Lovington. Thanks to this business, I am able to employ young people here who want to learn more about technology and marketing, giving them a chance to pursue a career path that isn’t commonly found in this area.

Even though there were limitations growing up in Lovington, I wouldn’t have wanted to trade it for anything else. I feel like I owe a lot to the town for making me who I am today, and I hope that I’m able to find meaningful ways to give back and help the town move forward in a positive way.
